Overall I like this microwave and it is much quieter than my previous GE microwave. I also bought this because I know Kitchen Aid makes a quality product. My comparison below is with my old GE I replaced. A couple basic features I wish it had are: - 1 touch for cooking time. For example if you want to heat a cup of water for 2 mins you could press the 2 button and it know you want 2 mins time and starts - instead you have to hit 2-0-0 and then start. (4 touches verses 1 touch w/ my GE). - The open/close button is very stiff, you really have to press hard to open the door - Back lit control panel so you can see it in the dark. For the above reasons, this is why I only gave it 4 stars overall.

The worst purchase of my life. My brand new house came with brand new Kitchen Aid Microwave. I was very happy that it was kitchen aid because I heard good things about them. However I personally never owned anything kitchen aid. This microwave broke within 4 months. The time display is odd. It never really worked the way it should and broke anyways in the first month itself. Thank god I took the warranty and the extended warranty. The first time it broke, they supposedly replaced with one other brand new microwave. Now this microwave stood for one year almost exactly and then boom. Its gone. My old town home has a GE microwave and it is still working and its more than 10 yrs now. Touch wood. I am going to never buy kitchen aid again. Oh i forgot about the extended warranty. Apparently, extended warranty is also bad from kitchen aid. They don't repair or replace over the counter microwaves. WOW. What a clause. I mean then what is the point of extended warranty and its in the fine print obviously. So for all the folks who are thinking to buy Kitchen Aid stay away.

The microwave works pretty well when it's working. We've noticed some weird behavior, though. After setting the time, within a month or so, it will be replaced by "00:00" and we'll have to settle time again. Seems like it happens after closing the door but only once within a month of setting it. It also comeson randomly when you close the door with no timer counting down. It will also freeze on a number counting down and just keep hearing. It's actually probably pretty dangerous. We just keep an eye on it. We've only had it a little over a year. Pretty disappointing considering the price and the brand. We love the rest of our KitchenAid appliances. This microwave is not great, though.

I love KitchenAid appliances.

This microwave was purchased in 6/2018 when we had our house built. I have never had any issues or had to replace any KitchenAid appliances in my entire life until this microwave. Even though my one year warranty had expired, the company took care of me and delivered me a new one free of charge in an exceptional quick turn around.
