I bought this microwave this week to replace a 10 year old GE that the keypad shorted on, since the keypad alone is upwards of $150, I decided to just replace the microwave. I hate this microwave, it is very LOUD, and there is a whistling sound that is coming from the vent grill. There is no vent grill guard on this microwave, and when it is in operation hot air blasts out of the grill on the top of the microwave, I assume this is the reason it is so loud, and also the reason for the whistle sound. My GE had a cover over the vent grill, and it was very quiet when running. I also miss the express function buttons on my GE, instead of just being able to press 1 for a minute of cook time, you have to press 1.00 and the start button on this microwave. The only reason I didn't get another GE is because the store I purchased the microwave from did not have any in stock, and I needed a microwave ASAP, the salesman assured me he had sold alot of this model and they were good, I can tell you I will never buy another one, nor will I recommend them to anyone. It does seem to heat good, that is why I gave it 2 stars. I can get used to the function buttons, but it is so loud, and the whistle sound is driving me nuts! I will probably try to dump it on some other unsuspecting person, and get another GE.

I bought this microwave about a month ago. It is a bit larger than my last one, but fits well into the space and looks nice. There are a few more features which we are enjoying. I am very happy with my purchase.

We bought this microwave to replace one that only lasted 2 years. Hopefully Whirlpool brand will stand the test of time. So far, so good. The only thing I do not like is that the timer does not keep beeping, even occasionally, after the time has elapsed. I've ruined a couple batches of food learning this.
