This is our second Whirlpool microwave in this model. We replaced our first one due to a crack in the door that eventually made the microwave stop working. Other than the door problem, the microwave works as expected. We purchased the same model the second time because I liked the features and we could reuse the same hanging hardware. Unfortunately, one year - to the day - after the purchase a new crack has developed in the same location as the previous one. Fortunately, we purchased the extended warranty from the vendor this time, so hopefully it will be repaired or replaced.

Open Close Door!

It worked great until it didn't. We now get a message to open and close the door when we press start. All the door opening and closing in the world does not change the message. Canceling and starting over yields the same message. This is in our summer home and this is only the second summer for this microwave. We had higher hopes! Alas, this lovely white and stainless color combination is no longer available, so if we buy another it will not match our other appliances. Major bummer as our overall kitchen design is white with stainless accents. By the way, our very first microwave--a Montgomery Ward brand--was purchased in the 80's and was working perfectly when we gave it away two years ago. At this price point, we expected better from Whirlpool.I hope our other appliances hold up better.

We have had this microwave for 4 years now and was having the “close door” beep every time with use. Few slams and door wiggles usually “fixed it” I started googling to trouble shoot this issue and found many reviews the same. So what’s going on?! Not happy to only have this last a few years and have to open and close the door several times in order for it to work. One time it even kept running when I opened the door. Starting to get frustrated.
