Maytag Top Load Washer with the Deep Water Wash Option and PowerWash® Cycle - 3.6 cu. ft.

We bought this machine 2 weeks ago. My mom is 95 and needed something easy to use. She can’t see well so after the initial setup I showed her she only needed to push one button. She loves it and so do I.

I purchased this wash machine in February 2018 - it is now July 2019 and the wash machine is dead. $85 for a repair call only to be told the bearings are shot as well as the lid lock and the cost to repair is crazy. I liked the machine when it was working, other than the loud vibrations even though it was level. Very disappointed in this product.

Exceptionally disappointed with this washer's reliability. Purchased in May of 2018 from Lowe's, unit died in July 2019 - master control / computer dead. Cost to repair (parts and labor) exceeded the price of this washer (or a new one, which will most decidely not be a Maytag) Definitely should have purchased the store offered extended warranty (live and learn) but I'm an old timer and grew up with those Maytag commercial repairmen (sitting around, looking for something to do) - not the reality today. We've lost power a few times this summer - but nothing else in the house (computers, televisions, audio gear, kitchen appliances, etc.) have had issues. I'm an electrical engineer and I know the designers engineer all the safety margins of power supplies to save every nickel, but jeez, $10 worth of over-design in the power supply and I bet this would still be working. Time to shop for a new washer. Won't be considering a Maytag...

What a shame. To spend this kind of money and have such poor quality. The machine makes so much noise you can hear every cycle change, water valve operation, spin cycle through two floors and closed doors. For 13 years we used hand-me-down machines and had pretty good luck. We finally splurged and bought a new washer and dryer. Thinking this was a good brand and had a good warranty. I've learned my lesson. I'll be saving up to be a Speedqueen next. In less than two years I've had multiple service calls and now have a $200 repair bill for a bad clutch. We also bought a new fridge 6 months ago and it is also a complete piece of junk. The freezer drawer doesn't line up, it freezes stuff in the fridge etc. I will be surprised if it lasts 3 years. Our last fridge was used when we bought the house and went another 5 years. The fridge before that was used when we bought the house and was still working fine 9 years later. I don't think we'll get that lucky with this fridge. I will not buy another Maytag product.
