the 8k display is stunning and watching native 8k videos (youtube) is the most impactful. still, upscaled blu-ray and 4k cable/streaming content are beyond sharp with hyper-realistic detail. no problems with connection via hdmi 2.1 cable from avr. arc works great to return audio from onboard content to the home theater system. other samsung features as per norm. a big leap forward for home viewing. very happy with the purchase.

Bad quality bad 8k support bad audio support

I purchased this tv on March 6th 2020. Since then I have noticed issues with the quality of the tv. See the attached photo where light is escaping from the upper left corner as if someone did not properly assemble this tv. There is also a quality issue at the bottom of the screen where some kind of either adhesive or gasket is sticking out at the bottom I have also attached a picture of that. This tv also doesn't really support anything 8k. No youtube 8k and limited to I think 1 codec which basically makes it unusable. This is the 2nd bad samsung TV I have purchased in the past few months. I had also purchased a 75" q60r that just quit working and I had to go through a horrible experience with samsung customer care to get it resolved. Then I purchased this 75" q900rb and discover all these issues and more to come. There is also an issue with the sound/audio being out of sync with certain content. The lack of earc support is the problem. Good luck if you have a soundbar or home theater connected to it. I see that all of these issues have been corrected and features added for the 2020 models so samsung knows the issues are relevant. The build quality is still suspect and won't know until you unbox it and spend a little time with it. I am considering my options now as I do not see any support coming from samsung on some of these issues. I have spoken to customer service about hardware support such as the 8k youtube problem and the lip sync issues and as far as I know support to problems are not coming. Perhaps I just need to return this tv so they can throw it in the trash. I do know I do not want another cumbersome and overall terrible experience with trying to warranty the tv through customer care as I have been through that once before and it was not pleasant and it was very time consuming. But in the end it was resolved. On a side note I do like samsung phones. But it seems their other electronics aren't up to the same quality. Probably a bigger money maker for them.

Thus far, I'm unimpressed with the whole Samsung experience with one notable exception. First, let me reveal this is our third Samsung TV and I've been pleased with the products prior to this experience. Second, what is up with the One Connect Box? Our first one went out 2.5 days after hanging the TV on the wall mount. Was going to use Samsung to address issue but repair person said "at this price point and the product being out of the box only three days, get it replaced at Best Buy." That had been our first thought when we were watching the TV and it went black and silent. The repair person told us the One Connect box is supposed to be warm but not hot. Well, the second TV has been on our wall for 2 days, this is day three, and, yep, the box is HOT not just warm to the touch. My issue with this One Connect Box is simple...if the box overheats and, by extension, keeps the TV from working, why rely on it? If the box goes, there's no other way to connect the TV to electrical power supply. You know, like a bloody cord with a plug on the end of it! I mean, come on...it's nice to have a box to hook all your peripherals to but you might want to make sure the One Connect Box is an IMPROVEMENT over the previous way to connect HDMIs. Additionally, how can I tell the bloody box is working since there's no power indicator light. I like Samsung's products overall; however, given the issues everyone seems to be having - One Connect Box issues, not compatible with the ONLY service that has 8K videos, forcing us to connect TV to power via, thus far, unreliable "improved" system, it seems the One Connect Box is going to be a "solution" that is more of a "problem" than an improvement. Sometimes, the old way IS the better way! So, the jury is out for us right now but I do know one thing for sure. Samsung should announce now they'll fix ANY and ALL One Connect Box issues for as long as the consumer owns the TV. At this price point, it's the least the company can do since we're limited in our avenues to bring power to the set.

After buying into the hype of future proofing my viewing pleasure in diving into 8k it appears that the more I peel back the onion the more I see that my 75Q900RB is not properly capable of displaying 8K content. This became prevalent to me when I noticed I could not watch 8K content via YouTube. After reading messages on the boards and content around the web I understand that the AV1 codec required to watch 8K content on YouTube isn’t on my television. I don’t even want to discuss the contrast modulation aspect of 15% my TV can display which further debunks that my TV is true 8K. I am almost starting to regret my purchase and wish I waited for the Q950t which is supposed to be real 8k. I am hoping Samsung can do the right thing to ensure us early adopters can properly enjoy 8k content by either replacing our sets or providing a viable update that can correct this mess.
