i bought this tv in september 2020 brand new from best buy. i mounted it and watch it in my spare time. 2/16/22 tv no longer will turn on. tv hasn't been dropped or anything. this is ridiculous and unacceptable. samsung says my tv is out of warranty and nothing they can do. they then offer to give me an extended warranty but i would have to drive 3 hours to use it. very much so an inconvenience. i paid close to $1000 for a tv that did not even last two years. i am disappointed and will never purchase a samsung tv again. i would not have bought this tv if i knew it would only last for a year and 5 months. this is just bad business and i am really turned off by samsung as a company. i feel as though i should just get a new tv and rid myself of anything samsung.

i purchased this tv about a year and 10 months ago. it was a good tv while it lasted. i never liked the remote and used the one that came with my cable box most of the time anyway. recently, tv screen went dark and i could hear sound intermittently. samsung warranty is 1 year. after contacting samsung, they will do absolutely nothing if out of warranty. people, if you have to have a samsung, maybe think of buying additional warranty. i, however, will not be buying samsung again. the company will stand behind their product for a year. after that, you are out of luck. $800+ down the drain.

the picture is great on this tv. but it will not update the firmware. i have had the tv for a little over a year and for the past 5 months i have been having hell trying to update the firmware/ software. i have tried using a zip drive offline, online every way possible. i would give the tv 5 stars but i cant use it. i have talked with samsung reps and the dont seem to know how to fix it. all my apple product work flawlessly.

looking for samsung tvs in the market and something in a budget. narrowed down to ru8000 (2019) and tu8000 (2020). finally bought this one on a deal during the labor day. by far, best picture quality coupled with crisp sound when compared to its competitors.

the softaare is glitchy, hulu crashes after a few hours so binge watching kinda sucks. the hdr10 is really dark so movies during the day are uncomfortable and streaming through apple devices is very inconsistent.
