wont play blu-rays or 4k

works fine for dvd's but will not play blu-rays. just get an error that it can not read the disc. have tried several different discs.

My Samsung 4K HDR Blu-Ray Player UBDM9500 will not play “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 Blu-Ray discs. I get “Disc Error Disc does not meet specifications” My firmware version is 1111.4 and no updates are available. I went through all the default troubleshooting procedures (Confirmed the Region code of the disc, unplug and re-plug and factory reset the player) with a Samsung CSR via chat. These are the only Blu-Ray discs I have that will not play but online forums show that this is a problem with other titles and has been going on for a month now.

Not Atmos, Dolby Vision compatible

The specs on this need to indicate that it will not even pass through using bitstream, Atmos or Dolby Vision. Being a flagship unit, I should at least be able to play the Atmos demo disc, which it will not do. My receiver is an Anthem MRX 1120, so no issues on that end for Atmos, DTS X or Dolby Vision, not sure why the signal cannot be at the least passed through using HDMI connection. Wasted $400, as any home theater needs to have these features built in

...the user pays attention to the details. I like this product. It has met and exceeded its performance claims. While it may be considered a 'plug & play', to reach its potential one would do well to read the manual and various product reviews. I have paired this unit with a 2018 Samsung 55" Q8FN QLED 4K HDR; apparently each component has been specifically designed to compliment the other. Picture quality, with some intelligent adjustments is exceptional. Sound quality is, likewise, exceptional; it passes through my Pioneer VSX-LX303 A/V Receiver for optimal sonics in my 5.2 surround sound system. The only sub-optimal feature is a minor one. Connecting my LogiTech K830 wireless keyboard was a mystery until I pressed both the FN key (lower left of the keyboard) and the delete key simultaneously. I followed the directions in the manual (page 47) precisely up till that time; after adding this little trick, the keyboard connected. Samsung manual editors might want to add this to their e-manual. This is a good product. If a prospective buyer looks on-line, they might be able to pick one up for a good price. Its also well designed (congratulations engineers). As far as I am concerned, most of the complaints I read about are gripes from uninformed customers.

NO HULU APP!

No Hulu! There's a Hulu app on the box with Netflix and others, that's why i just bought this newer 4k 5G wifi player to replace my still good HD 5G wifi Samsung player where the Hulu app quit working. I'm going to have to return this and might be my last Samsung purchase!
